April 2024: In April 2024, the government of Chile published its new Green Hydrogen Action Plan 2023-2030. This action plan focuses on the green hydrogen industry, its derivatives, and the entire value chain.

December 2021: Chile's First Call for Green Hydrogen Project Funding in Chile has awarded CLP 16.9 million to Enel Green Power Chile and Highly Innovative Fuels (HIF), a unit of regional power producer AME towards funding to be used towards about 240MW of electrolyzers. The project is expected to produce 25,000 tons of green hydrogen per year from local wind power.

July 2021: The Minister of Energy of Chile and the State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Policy signed a joint statement on collaboration in the field of green hydrogen import and export. The agreement aims to encourage emission reduction, and the creation of an international hydrogen market.

November 2020: In November 2020, the Chilean Ministry of Energy published a National Green Hydrogen Strategy. The Strategy outlines specific goals for 2025 and 2030 and an action plan to meet those goals.

2019  - 2022: Decarbonization of the Chilean energy sector project commissioned by the German BMU with a EUR 4 million grant includes support for innovative technologies and approaches such as green hydrogen for renewable energy system integration and sector coupling.

October 2018: Second international conference "Green hydrogen for Chile's energy transition" organized by the Promoting Solar Energy Project as part of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU)'s International Climate Initiative (IKI) in cooperation with Chile's Ministry of Energy and Chile's Production Development Corporation (CORFO) was held.
