There were no significant or material changes to Act. No. 90/2018 on Data Protection, Act No. 78/2019 on the Security of Network and Information Systems of Critical Infrastructure, or Act No. 70/2022 on Telecommunications, in 2024.

The recently updated topics mostly address anticipated changes, as there are many EU Regulations and Directives that will be implemented in the coming months and years. The DORA regulation implementation is set to take place in July 2025, and preparation for NIS2 has begun. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation has published an Action Plan on Artificial Intelligence and according to that plan, the EU Data Act and Data Governance Act are to be implemented to better facilitate the development of AI technologies.

In 2024, Act No. 55/2024 on the free flow of non-personal data, implementing Regulation 2018/1807/EU also entered into force.
