Notable changes include the Privacy Commissioner’s announcement of plans to issue a biometrics code, with the draft code released for public consultation on 18 December 2025. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner also intends to issue guidance on children and young people's privacy. Additionally, the Privacy Amendment Bill, which aims to broaden the Privacy Act’s notification requirements, has now reached its second reading in Parliament.
